The Children of
Willesden Lane
Lisa Jura, a young Jewish girl living in Vienna, dreamed that one day she would become a concert pianist. The Holocaust shattered those dreams. But her daughter, Mona Golabek, fulfilled that dream for her. Not only is she a Grammy-nominated musician, she wrote a book about her mother’s story. That book, The Children of Willesden Lane, written by Mona Golabek and Lee Cohen, will be discussed at Glendale Public Library’s Main Branch on Tuesday, January 30 at 2:00 p.m. Then, on April 4, Mona will kick off Genocide Awareness Week in a concert at Scottsdale Center of the Arts. (Tickets available for this event at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.)
