Sometimes reading
romantic scenes can be totally cringey. Sometimes writing them can be even
worse. In this workshop we’ll discuss what makes us swoon and what makes us gag
in the stories we read, and how to keep the love scenes we write from ever
being cringe-worthy.
Amy K. Nichols is the author of the YA science fiction novels Now That You’re Here and While You Were Gone, published by Knopf Books for Young Readers. She served as a Teaching Associate with the Your Novel Year program at the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at Arizona State University, and enjoys leading workshops at The Piper Center, Copper Hills Center for the Arts and other venues around the Phoenix area. Insatiably curious, Amy dabbles in art and quantum physics, and has a long list of things to see, do and learn before she dies. Visit her online at amyknichols.com.
