National Library Week runs from April 7-13th! Stop by any of our library locations and share your love for the library all month! Decorate a paper book symbol to show what the library means to you or why you enjoy spending your time here. Turn the symbol into a staff member and library staff will decorate an area of the library with everyone's love for the library. 

To celebrate Star Wars Day, teens can design a droid using templates, colored pencils, and other material. Head over to the Teen Zone during the month of May to design a droid! All materials will be provided. For ages 12-18.

All events at the Glendale Public Library are public, and participants may be photographed by the media and/or City staff for future print and/or online publication.

We are celebrating Star Wars all month long at the Velma Teague Library! When visiting the library in May, be sure to stop by the circulation desk to pick up your very own paper bag Chewbacca craft kit. This craft is for children 12 years and younger; available while supplies last!

Knight to F3! Wanna build your chess skills, meet other players, or just learn a little bit more? Join the weekly Foothills Chess Club! No registration required! Geared toward ages 8 and up. This week's chess club is being held at the youth tables.

Become a part of our Big Band, rehearsing and performing a variety of popular Big Band tunes at the Foothills Library!  Musicians who can sight read charts are encouraged to sign-up, and everyone else is invited to attend rehearsals as part of our audience.  All players must bring their own music stands and instruments. We will start you off with a brief tutorial and then when you are comfortable with the controls you can move on to one of the many games and activities pre-loaded on our devices. Meet Tori Ostberg of Copper State Storm Chasing, who leads the exciting life of chasing treacherous weather, from monsoons to tornadoes. Tori doesn't run from the storm. She runs to it! Her knowledge of and experience with Mother Nature's wildest Arizona storms will be covered in this presentation, along with her breathtaking footage and award winning photographs.
